Adding a countersunk hole for a screw


  1. Select the Isometric View
  2. In the Workplane Browser right click on the frontal workplane and select New Sketch - name this sketch Hole Sketch
  3. Using the Circle tool draw a circle in approximately the desired position as shown
  4. Use the Constrain size tool to position the circle 9mm from the bottom edge and 30mm from the side
  5. Now select the Insert Hole tool
  6. In the Insert Hole dialogue, make sure the following values are set:

Sketch for hole position - Hole Sketch

Extent - Thru entire part

C'sink diameter - 7mm

Diameter - 4mm

C'sink angle - 90

 

Select OK

  1. Use the Manipulate tool tool check the hole

  2. Press the Spacebar to end manipulation

To copy (pattern) the first hole


  1. In the Features Browser right click on the hole feature you created and select Pattern
  2. In the direction box select the Edges option from the pull-down menu
  3. In the modelling window select an edge that is parallel to the direction in which you want to duplicate the hole
  4. Check that the direction arrow in the modelling view is correct - if not click the Reverse button
  5. In the Pattern Feature box enter a value of 2 for the number of instances and 90 for the spacing between holes - if the spacing box is not visible, it is because you must have an edge selected to indicate direction
  6. Check the preview in the modelling window before selecting OK
  7. You can change the pattern properties by right-clicking the pattern in the Feature Browser and choosing Redefine
  8. Save your file to your MyWork folder
