Setting CAM details

  1. From the File menu choose To mill
  2. You will be prompted to save your file - give the file a sensible name and save in the default directory as prompted
  3. In the Draw Mill dialogue make sure that Material is set to MDF and that the Edging and Area tools are correctly set (Note: you can reduce machining time by using the 6mm cutter for both area and edging - rectangular holes will have a 3mm radius in their corners instead of 1.5mm)
  4. You can now click on Depths... to set the depths of cut
  5. Each colour you have used should have an appropriate depth setting and Area should be selected as the machining method
  6. When complete, select Process - you will be prompted to save settings with your file - click yes and save in catalogue 1
  7. You should now see a simulation of the machining of your block
  8. You are now ready to log on to the CNC miller to manufacture your block
