Creating the front view

  1. From the File menu select New
  2. Choose Drawing > OK
  3. Choose A4 paper from the Format tab and BS308 from the Drawing Standard tab > OK
  4. Maximise the screens
  5. From the Drawing menu select Add Modeling View... - if the option is not available then open your assembly design
  6. In the Add Modeling View dialogue select the From Workplane tab and select Workplane frontal
  7. The front view will be inserted onto your sheet and you can drag it to the lower left corner of your sheet as shown

If you cannot select the view to re-position it, use the Select Views tool

Adding a projected view

  1. Use the Feature Select tool to select the top face of the base as shown (in red)
  2. From the Drawing menu choose Add Projected View
  3. The top view is now imported
  4. Drag this top view above the front view using Select View tool if necessary - holding the Shift key pressed as you drag will keep the correct alignment
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to import and position the right side view - this time though you must select the right hand face of the base before importing the view
Re-scaling the views

  1. The default scale of 1:1 does not give enough room to add dimensions
  2. From the Drawing menu select Sheet Setup
  3. In the Scale tab change the scale to 1:2
