Adding dimensions


  1. Select the Linear Dimension tool from the toolbar
  2. To dimension the length of the base, select the left hand face of the base - then select and hold the mouse on the right hand face of the base - still holding the mouse button drag the dimension below the base as shown
  3. Continue dimension the main features - do not dimension any feature more than once
  4. Use the Diametric Dimension tool to dimension circles etc.
  5. Use the Radial Dimension tool to dimension rounds etc..

Adding a title

  1. Select the Text Note tool from the toolbar
  2. In the drawing window, click and drag a short distance and a default text note appears
  3. With the note still selected, right click and choose Properties from the pop-up menu
  4. You can enter the desired text in the dialogue box and select the Text tab to set the size of text and the font if required
  5. To remove the call-out line select it using the Select Annotation tool and pressing Delete
  6. You can also use the Select Annotation tool to reposition your text
  7. When your drawing is complete, save to your MyWork folder - don't forget to add your name

To Print your drawing

  1. From the File menu select Print

  2. In the Print Drawing dialogue select the Print true scale option
  3. Select Setup...
  4. Make sure the correct printer is selected and that the Orientation is Landscape - select OK
  5. Do not print at this stage - Cancel the dialogue
  6. From the File menu select Print Preview..
  7. Check that all is well and that you can see all of your drawing before selecting Print.. at the top left of the window
