- Choose the Select Faces
tool
- Move over the base you created until the edges of the top face are
pre-highlighted in light blue
- Select the top face
- From the Workplane menu select New Sketch
(or you can right click and select New Sketch from the pop-up
menu)
- Name the the sketch 'tube hole'
- Check the Create Workplane option and name this workplane
'top face'
- If necessary, select Autoscale from the View menu

- Choose the Circle
tool
- Move the pencil cursor to a point on the top face of the base
- Press and hold and drag out the circle to approximately the desired
size

- Choose the Extrude Profile
tool from the Features
toolbar
- Ensure that the Sketch to use as profile box is set to use tube
hole
- In the dialogue box enter a distance of 6mm, check the Subtract
material and Below workplane
options
- Select OK.
