To copy (pattern) a feature - eg a hole


  1. Choose the Select Features tool
  2. Select the hole you wish to copy (as you move over it with the cursor it will be pre-highlighted in light blue)
  3. From the Features menu select Pattern

  1. In the direction box select the Edges option from the pull-down menu
  2. In the modelling window select an edge that is parallel to the direction in which you want to duplicate the hole
  3. In the Pattern feature box enter a value for the number of instances and for the spacing between holes - if the spacing box is not visible, it is because you must have an edge selected to indicate direction
  4. Check the preview in the modelling window before selecting OK
  5. You can change the pattern properties by right-clicking the pattern in the Feature Browser and choosing Redefine

 

To blend (round) the edges

  1. From the Feature edit toolbar select the Round tool
  2. Enter a value of 3mm in the radius dialogue box
  3. Select the five edges shown - use the Shift key to add edges to the selection
